Data-to-XML Action
e Data-to-XML action (see Figure 10.4) outputs the contents of the dataset in memory
to an XML le. e resulting XML File will contain the exact same schema as the source
dataset.

e Data-to-XML action has the following property:
File Operation (Choice) – e File Operation property allows you to select from the
following options when creating an XML le:
Append – e new data will be added to the end of the existing XML le without
overwriting it; a new XML le will be created if one does not already exist.
Note
Using the Append setting requires that the data used to create the XML file utilizes
the same schema as the current data. If the data sources are dierent, this operation
will show an error.
Overwrite – e new XML le will overwrite any previous XML le with the given
lename on the system; a new XML le will be created if one does not already
exist.
Sequential – e new XML le will add a timestamp string to the end of the given
lename, allowing new les to exist along-side old les. Each le will have its cre-
ation time and date marked in the lename for easy reference.
Data-to-Text Action
e Data-to-Text action (see Figure 10.5) outputs the contents of the dataset to a text le
with a given delimiter string.
