90 CHAPTER 8 BASIC TASKBUILDER FUNCTIONS
Copying Components or Actions
Elements can be copied and then pasted into the same task or into a dierent task. To copy
components or actions, rst put TaskBuilder in Select mode by clicking the button on
the Mode toolbar. en follow the steps below:
1 Select the desired element(s) using a single click or group select.
2 Click the button on the toolbar, select Copy from the Edit menu, or use the key-
board shortcut (Ctrl + C).
3 Switch to the destination task, if desired, by clicking on the appropriate tab.
4 Click the button on the toolbar, select Paste from the Edit menu, or use the key-
board shortcut (Ctrl +V).
e elements will be pasted to the destination task with the same properties as the original.
e elements can be pasted any number of times in other tasks, and they will remain on the
clipboard until another Cut or Copy operation is performed.
Note
New components will be pasted in the same location as the original(s), only with their
locations adjusted slightly, allowing you to visually dierentiate the copies and the
originals.
Cutting Components or Actions
When cutting task elements, the original elements are deleted aer being copied to the
clipboard. To cut components or actions, rst put TaskBuilder in Select mode by clicking
the button on the Mode toolbar. en follow these steps:
1 Select the desired element(s) using a single click or group select.
2 Click the button on the toolbar, select Cut from the Edit menu, or use the keyboard
shortcut (Ctrl + X).
3 Switch to the destination task by clicking on the appropriate tab.
4 Click the button on the toolbar, select Paste from the Edit menu, or use the key-
board shortcut (Ctrl +V).
e elements will be pasted to the destination task with the same properties as the original.
e elements can be pasted any number of times in other tasks, and they will remain on the
clipboard until another cut or copy operation is performed.
